Frequently Asked Questions About Hemp
Yes, the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp (Cannabis Sativa L.) from the controlled substance list. Hemp is federally legal as long as the percentage of THC remains below 0.3%.
While both hemp and marijuana come from the Cannabis plant, hemp does not contain the psychoactive ingredient that causes people to get high. Hemp is not used as a recreational drug, but instead has numerous uses in the industrial and medical world.
The uses of hemp are nearly limitless! Hemp can be used to make paper, textiles, construction material and many other items in the industrial world. Hemp is also where we get CBD oil, which has a lot of people excited about potential medical / pharmaceutical uses.
Hemp is great for the environment! Hemp has a great reputation for its bioremediation abilities, meaning its ability to pull toxins and heavy metals from the soil. We believe hemp will play a large role in cleaning soils that have been damaged from years of commercial fertilizer use.
